We toured the roman town of Vienne whose history goes back to the 3rd century BC. We saw a temple built to the first emperor Augustus Caesar and a roman amphitheater. The coolest thing was that they still use the amphitheater for concerts and Neil Young was playing that night ! They were setting up the stage and we saw his tour bus. Way cool. We are passing through many locks while on the river boat and you can actually touch the sides of the lock as the boat is going down. Late last night the kids were on true upper deck and were told by a crew member to lay down because a low bridge was approaching - can you imagine ?
